CHLOE - DECEMBER 2019 PET of the MONTH!
Born in April 2015, Chloe is 4 years old. She enjoys running around the backyard, playing in the kiddie pool, and going for long walks. She loves the Dog Swim events .. Pooch Plunge at Armstrong Park and Doggie Dip at Prophetstown State Park. She loves people, getting pampered at the groomer, and attending Day Play at Simon & Halles.
GIZMO - AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2020 PET of the MONTH!
This is Gizmo! I’m about 9 years old and after a nice lady named LeAnn rescued me from a bad situation, she helped me adopt my current family. My humans are Bill and Marsha and I have an older brother named Egon. He is a coon-hound and a very loud coon-hound too! I am shy and protective of my personal space, so I will let someone know if they are bothering me. I love to walk my humans, and have a special fondness for French fries.

POOKA - MAY2020 PET of the MONTH!
Pooka is a ~3 year old Shar Pei x Husky mix who we got 2 years ago through Pawswap. We picked her because she was the most respectful of our senior Yorkie, Howie, who is shy and dog selective (they're best friends now). She loves playing with her doggy friends and making human friends. Her favorite pups to play with are much bigger than her - one of her best friends is a Great Dane! She's the only extrovert in our house and has been getting some cabin fever while we're on lock down but we're making up for that with field trips to the parks. When things are normal, she gets to help mom at work by being an adult teacher dog at play and being a demo dog during training lessons. She also loves watching animals on TV!
PETER - JANUARY 2020 PET of the MONTH!
Peter is a rambunctious, clever two-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi that is full of life and energy. He is proud of his status of one of the fastest dogs that visit Shamrock Dog Park -- he won 2nd Place in the 2019 Purdue Corgi Race! Most people only get to see his frantic, energetic side, but his deep secret is that he loves to snuggle. Peter is extremely particular and likes things to be done his way. If you're not sure what "his way" means, don't worry -- he'll let you know with a demanding bark. While he can be a handful at times, Peter brings joy and laughter to everyone he meets.
CAMILLA - JULY/AUGUST 2020 PET of the MONTH!
Camilla was a month shy of 14 years old when she crossed the rainbow bridge in June. She was adopted by me (Dr. Amy) when she was about 6 years old through Purdue’s teaching dog program. She was a lover and had quite the group of human admirers. Like any lab, food was life. If you had a treat she was your best friend forever. Doggie Dip and Pooch Plunge were always favorite events of hers, as you can see from the picture, since she loved splashing in the water. She loved people and going to the dog park (so much so we had to say “pog dark” when talking about it if we didn’t want her getting overly excited). Her dog park routine was sniffing the entire perimeter fence, greeting all the humans to get some lovin', and dunking her head in the water buckets “to drink”. She always enjoyed her dog park time and admirers.
Rest easy Camilla ❤
SYDNEY - FEBRUARY 2020 PET of the MONTH!
Sydney is an fun-loving Maltese rescue (adopted in August from Loving Heart Animal Shelter). She occasionally loves giving the big dogs a good run along the fence at the Shamrock Dog Park. Like all creatures, she has her particular quirks and behaviors, but is very loved and appreciated for her unique qualities.
SABLE - JUNE/JULY 2020 PET of the MONTH!
Sable is the matriarch of The W Pack family and a longtime member of Shamrock Dog Park. She was adopted by her mom, LeAnne, over 13 years ago from AHHS and will turn 14 years old on June 18th, which she’ll celebrate with her siblings Kylie and Compton. In her younger days, she loved running and playing with her dog friends, but these days she prefers to rest in the shade and watch her dog friends enjoy her beloved park. When not at the Dog Park, Sable love long walks through our favorite trails and creeks, and napping in her backyard spot. She has lived a long life loving and caring for her siblings, which include her senior brothers and sister who have crossed the bridge. She has been the best big sister and companion a family could ask for, and we look forward to spending more time exploring and loving on her in the future. Sweet Sable! Happy Birthday to our June/July Pup of the Month.
